About John W. Wood II, MBA

John first earned a BS in Exercise Science from Texas State University. In addition, John holds an MBA in Healthcare Management from Concordia University-St. Paul. John currently serves as an Adjunct Professor for Concordia’s MBA program. John also has a degree in nursing which allows him to bring a clinical perspective to his leadership. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration from A. T. Still University to further expand his knowledge in the field as well as expand his passion for teaching the next generation of healthcare leaders.

John has spent his career working in both acute and post-acute rehabilitation. Prior to joining Moody Neuro, he served as the CEO of an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Austin, Texas. Most recently, John was the Regional Director of Operations for another Post-Acute Brain Injury organization where he oversaw multiple facilities in Texas. Operationally, John is focused on quality outcomes, patient and family satisfaction, patient advocacy and employee engagement. He has a passion for helping others and enjoys the opportunity to be personally involved in all aspects of facility life.

John has served as an Expert Panelist for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists, Concordia St. Paul Alumni Advisory Council, and volunteers for multiple organizations throughout the Houston and Galveston communities. Outside of work, John enjoys spending his time camping, swimming, biking, and traveling with his wife and two children. He is also an avid Houston sports fan.
