About Susan Barnes, LCSW

Susan Barnes graduated from University of Houston with a BA in psychology in 1991 and earned her MSW from the Graduate School of Social Work in 1993.

Susan worked in psychiatric inpatient and outpatient facilities, as well as substance abuse inpatient and outpatient facilities at St. Joseph Hospital and Bayshore Medical. Additionally, Susan worked in not for profit counseling agencies and has had a private practice providing psychotherapy services.

She is very motivated by the Moody Neuro mission to provide the best possible care and rehabilitation to survivors of brain injury and successfully reintegrate them back into the community with as much independence as possible.

While not serving her patients, Susan enjoys being out in nature, playing golf with her husband, watching sports with her sons, and loves curling up with a great book! Also, few people know that she was a gymnast for many years and an avid runner.
